What to know the weight loss plan rumoured to be favoured by the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton and Hollywood stars Jennifer Lopez and Penelope Cruz? This is the revolutionary high protein diet that has taken France by storm. The Dukan Diet created by French medical doctor Pierre Dukan.
The Dukan diet plan targeted obese people and markets meat filled menus. A confessed meat lover, Dr. Dukan spent researching the properties of protein, establishing pattern and rules to work on excess kilogramme's. The plan which was based on a high protein plan was first called the Protal diet. The name Protal diet however, was abandoned for the now called Dukan diet.
One simple rule for the Dukan diet is to strictly follow to the rules. You’re commitment to the diet is the first step to reach your goal of losing weight.
To start, Dukan diet plan offers 4 unique phases to sustainable weight loss.
- Attack Stage – The stage where you immediately start the weight loss process by taking natural protein. Usually this stage is required to last only 2-7 days. Carbohydrates are restricted.
- Cruise Stage – Adhere to your “true weight.” This stage should be done after completing the attack stage. The high protein diet needs to be maintained while adding considerable amount of vegetables.
- Consolidation Stage – This stage was the maintenance of the weight achieved during the cruise stage. Carbohydrates are slowly introduced back to the body. More vegetables and fruits are allowed to eat.
- Stabilisation Stage – This stage is to ensure that the lose weight stays off. This is also the staged where we can again start anything we like. But there are rules, say the dieters take 3 tablespoons of oat bran per day, little exercise, a 20 minutes’ walk and attack of pure protein every Thursdays.
